Our 17th century country house is a cosy, comfortable haven that bursts with character in every room. Recently renovated, you have exclusive use of the entire downstairs of the house which includes the lounge, dining and garden room for your reception and civil ceremony. Greeted with a warm welcome through the grand front door, you’ll feel instantly at home; you can be assured that you’ll be toasty when the log burner is burning. There is plenty of seating and space to socialise in the house and chance to enjoy the house’s quirky features. Ceremonies in the garden room are super special, holding 66 people, the large wooden bay window overlooks the terraced gardens.
Our marquee is fit with elegant linings, glass bifold doors, chandeliers with hanging florals and a wooden feature wall, all covered in fairy lighting. The marquee holds up to 180 guests and with lovely furniture and thermostatic heating, you’ll feel nice and snug. The marquee presents a bright and spacious setting for your ceremony with endless views into the green Cheshire countryside. No matter where you may be at Hilltop, there is never a bar that is too far away.
Outdoor Winter Wedding Venue
Even though outdoors may be cold and potentially rainy, with our beautiful countryside surroundings and well-manicured gardens all year round, it would be a shame to miss out on those winter wedding photo opportunities. If you have snow on your wedding day then this is something special, you’ll never forget Hilltop Country house as a snowy winter wonderland. Sometimes, winter light can be better for a photographer as they have more control with lighting, there’s less shadows and no squinting! But if you do catch some winter sun, it is beautiful as it bounces off the frosty lawns with a backdrop of that baby blue sky.
And if it rains, grab one of our white umbrellas and get those atmospheric photos. Rain is seen as luck on your wedding day and without rain, there’s no rainbow!
If your guests want to spend time in the gardens, our outdoor chillout area is perfect. With heated umbrellas, large gas heaters, seating and blankets for everyone. As the nights draw in, get those dark but magical outdoor shots. Hilltop has uplighters, festoon and fairy lighting throughout the marquee and gardens.
Winter Wedding Food and Drink
Included in our 2025 winter wedding package deal is your food and drink for the day!
Starting with a celebratory drink of mulled wine or bottled beer and a choice of 3 different canapes for your guests whilst you mingle in the country house. Then, you can enjoy a 3-course wedding breakfast with choice from our daffodil menu or traditional Christmas menu, depending on the time of year. This is accompanied by wine and a prosecco for the speeches.
To finish the Hilltop dining experience is our delicious evening pizzas! The marquee overlooks the outdoor kitchen so that your guests can enjoy the culinary theatre of pizza cooking in our outdoor wood-fired pizza oven.
And whilst you’re having the winter wedding of your dreams, our director of music will have all of your music needs covered, playing songs right from your bespoke playlist created by you. This is orchestrated throughout the venue and in Hilltop’s very own nightclub…
