Where Summer Blooms & Love Unfolds – Helena & Alistair’s August Hilltop Country House Wedding

Bride and groom laughing by a tree swing in the woodland gardens at Hilltop Country House during a summer wedding.

Helena and Alistair’s wedding was everything we adore about summer at Hilltop Country House: sunlit gardens, relaxed atmosphere and a day that flowed effortlessly from one beautiful moment to the next. Their celebration showcased the very best of what our countryside venue offers: character, charm and the kind of vibe where genuine, joy-filled moments unfold naturally.

The morning began inside our 17th century house, where Helena got ready with her bridesmaids. The bridal suite was filled with soft window light and a calm, intimate buzz. The perfect setting for those emotional, quiet moments before the day begins.

Their ceremony took place on the terrace in our flower-filled gardens, one of Hilltop’s most loved features. With the borders in full summer bloom and the long lawn creating a natural aisle, the setting needed no extra styling. It was a heartfelt ceremony framed by seasonal colour with beautiful music played by family on the violin and electric piano

During their ceremony, Liam Dickinson Art was painting a very special piece which was later revealed to Helena and Alistair. Liam very cleverly live painted the couple with the backdrop of the country house, a sentimental takeaway to be hung in their home forever.

Afterwards, the gardens came alive with laughter, drinks and relaxed portraits among the borders and shaded pathways. Guests enjoyed lawn games and the soft golden light that settles across the grounds on warm afternoons, a signature Hilltop moment.

The ceremony and marquee were dressed by Hayley Flowers with soft oranges, purples and pinks throughout all of the floral arrangements, including the buttonholes, bouquets and welcome sign. The colours complemented Hilltop perfectly at this summer time of year. Speeches were full of emotion, and as the sun dipped, the whole marquee glowed.

As evening arrived, the party truly began. Our marquee is known for its incredible energy once the band starts playing, and the vibes on the dancefloor did not disappoint – full from the first song and buzzing late into the night. That Prop Guy also brought a fun element to the evening with his fabulous photo booth mirror and props.

Helena and Alistair’s day was a perfect reflection of what makes Hilltop Country House so special. The combination of a relaxed, welcoming setting where every part of the venue, from the historic house to the gardens and marquee and with the talent of some incredible wedding suppliers, we all work seamlessly together to create a celebration full of heart, beauty and unforgettable moments.
