It is safe to say that time flies when you’re having fun! Firstly, we’d like to thank our 2022 couples and all of their guests for making 2022 just so amazing. A year full of lots of smiles, laughs, and happy tears. Most of all, an entire year without COVID restrictions!
Now that we are well into 2023, we have had time to reflect on all the wonderful weddings and events we have had the pleasure of being part of in 2022. Although narrowing down our best bits was difficult, we have chosen our top 5 highlights of 2022 weddings. We hope this will give our upcoming couples some unique wedding ideas and encourage you to be as creative and imaginative as possible.
1. Champagne Tower
Our first highlight is a classic one: a champagne tower! A very popular wedding trend seen in 2022 and one trend we hope to see in many more future weddings. They are a fun addition to your special day and a gorgeous way to display champagne for yourselves and your guests. A champagne tower also creates fabulous photos!
Anastasia and James held their wonderful wedding with us in September 2022. They chose Laurent Perrier Champagne for their four-tiered tower, displayed on the terrace in front of Hilltop’s country house. We provide the glassware and champagne and set the tower wherever you’d like it on our grounds. All you have to do is tell us your favourite champagne. This an easy and elegant wedding idea for a modern wedding theme.

2. Dinosaur Flower Girl & Owl Ring Bearer
Our second highlight is 2 in 1; you read that right. An autumnal wedding in October 2022 saw both a dinosaur and an owl walk (and fly) down the aisle. Something truly unique that hasn’t been seen at Hilltop before!
Annie and Faiz held their ceremony in our garden room overlooking the autumn gardens. As opposed to a flower girl who scatters petals down the aisle, Annie and Faiz had a blow-up dinosaur doing the exact same thing. Even if he did hit his head on the chandelier, that was all part of the fun! Not too long behind, the dinosaur flew in a gorgeous owl with the rings because why not have an own as your ring bearer?

3. Wedding Alpacas
Keeping on the animal wedding trend, Harriet and William had their Columbian wedding with us in May 2022, and their guest list included Alfie and Jackson the alpacas. A huge hit with not only Harriet and William’s guests but also the entire Hilltop team! The two alpacas, Alfie and Jackson, arrived suited and booted in their best wedding attire. Their petting pen was decorated with white and green garlands to match Harriet and William’s marquee table decorations. If you’re looking for entertainment for your guests, definitely check out Cheshire Alpacas. A great addition to any wedding reception.

4. An Apron For Your Wedding Breakfast
Keeping a white outfit clean for the entire day is always difficult, especially when eating and drinking. If you’re worried about keeping your beautiful white dress clean, Emily had a solution during her wedding breakfast.
Emily and Jonathan enjoyed a warm September wedding in 2022. Their menu consisted of delicious canapes, various starters and mains for their guests to choose from, a trio of desserts and finished with pizzas from our own pizza oven in the evening. Just before Emily, Jonathan and all of their guests tucked into their main meal, Emily pulled out her very own ‘MRS’ apron. Not only did it protect her fabulous wedding dress from any stains, but it also made all of their guests laugh.

5. Cycle to your wedding!
Our last 2022 highlight is slightly different from your usual wedding transport. While Vicki enjoyed the morning being pampered and prepped for her wedding day in Hilltop’s bridal suite, little did she know what her husband-to-be was up to.
All of our weddings at Hilltop are truly special to each couple, and Vicki and Simon’s beautiful June wedding was no exception. Simon wanted to relate his passion for cycling to his big day, so he did just that. Simon cycled to his big day on a personalised bike that had been painted and decorated to match their wedding colours and theme. A sentimental wedding idea that will remind Vicki and Simon of their wonderful wedding at Hilltop. It also created very amusing photos that they will cherish forever.
