Hilltop Country House
National Garden Scheme Open Afternoon
A plant lover’s paradise!
On Sunday 2nd August 2026 we will be opening up the magnificent Hilltop Country House gardens to the public through The National Garden Scheme from 1pm to 4pm.
Hilltop’s 17th century country house is surrounded by 15 acres of rolling Cheshire countryside. The gardens are divided into smaller gardens and set on different levels including an enclosed secret parterre, wildlife areas, ponds, established mixed borders, an orchard, formal herb garden and a newly planted wood. There are many mature trees which provide structure throughout. Hilltop Country House is home to an all year round garden but summertime highlights the diversity of colours in the herbaceous borders.

This event will be ticketed at just £5 and can be purchased on arrival via cash or card. Included in your ticket will be tea, coffee and cake. There will be plenty of outdoor seating so that you can enjoy your refreshment within the gardens. You will have full access to the gardens so please take your time in savouring our beautiful surroundings. Proceeds will be going to the NGS who support a number of amazing charities.
Head Gardener, Craig and his team will be on hand to discuss the gardens and answer any questions you may have with the opportunity to purchase plants and seeds grown right here at Hilltop Country House.
Additionally, we will have a number of local suppliers attending the event. Ones who we work with on a regular basis, have a shared love for flowers and the outdoors and help to ensure we are ethical and sustainable in our everyday practise.
Hilltop’s outdoor beauty must be shared and we’d love for you to join us on Sunday 2nd August from 1pm-4pm and see the beauty for yourselves!
