Danielle & Dan’s Winter Wonderland Wedding at Hilltop Country House

‘Tis the season to get married!

During the winter months, Hilltop Country House really does resemble Narnia. Frost-covered lawns and fields surround our winter wedding venue, all beautifully lit, revealing the true beauty of Hilltop’s grounds. Although our wedding venue bursts with character all year round, winter at Hilltop really emphasizes the charm and magical feeling. We may not be able to guarantee a wedding in the snow, but we can be sure to guarantee that Hilltop is the best place to have a winter wedding.

Don’t let the cold stop you from having your dream winter wedding. Danielle and Dan definitely didn’t, and their wedding happened to be the most idyllic winter wonderland.

A warm welcome awaited Dan and Danielle and all of their guests as they arrived at Hilltop Country House. Danielle got ready upstairs for the most special day of her life. With the fire crackling away and snow building up outside, everyone made themselves at home with a glass of bubbly.

With Danielle and Dan’s guest numbers, they chose to have their ceremony in the garden room, overlooking the wintery gardens. Danielle wore a gorgeous above-the-ankle dress, whilst Dan wore his Royal Navy Number One uniform. To complement Dan’s uniform, Danielle cleverly hand-crafted her own bouquet from paper with accents of navy blue. After saying ‘I do!’, Danielle, Dan and their guests enjoyed a reception in the cosy country house, with prosecco and canapes for everyone!

After mingling in the house, everyone made their way into the marquee. The marquee is covered with enchanting lighting and heating throughout, creating the perfect space for you to let loose on all of your winter wedding ideas. For Danielle and Dan’s wedding theme for winter, they utilised Hilltop’s beautiful candelabra centrepieces wrapped in ivy. Candles are a lovely idea for a winter wedding as they create warmth and cosy light. Their wedding breakfast started with roasted tomato, red pepper and basil pesto soup, followed by bacon-wrapped chicken breast stuffed with pork, parsley and thyme served with seasonal vegetables and redcurrant jus and finished with a warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream—the most heart-warming meal on a special winter’s day.

“We absolutely loved the fact it snowed on our wedding day because it really did make the day feel more magical. And we loved Hilltop from the moment we came to see it. Everyone there made our day so wonderful and took all the stress out of the day for us, especially Clare.” – Danielle.

Once the snow has settled over Hilltop, Danielle and Dan snook off for some couple portrait shots. Snowy scenes and crisp gardens make the most stunning backdrops for photos, and Andy from A W Photography captured Hilltop’s serene winter setting perfectly. Danielle and Dan’s wedding photos are a complete winter wonderland dream!

With the dark winter evenings, Danielle and Dan’s first dance in the marquee was just like dancing under the starry night sky. Although our nightclub is always dark for those light summer evenings, this really made Danielle and Dan’s first dance ultra-romantic. Danielle, Dan and their guests ended their wedding day with a fabulous party in Hilltop’s nightclub. There wasn’t one guest who didn’t end up on the dance floor!
