Real Wedding: Debbie and Ian’s Joyful Easter Wedding at Hilltop

Easter is a time to reflect and spend time with loved ones. A recognisable feature of Easter is the egg and, most importantly, the chocolate eggs! An egg is a symbol of a new life, and with all of this in mind, Easter is the perfect time to start your new life as a married couple.

Even though Easter dates change yearly, the 4-day weekend is still the same. Children are on their spring half term; adults have time off work, giving you just a few more days to drag out those wedding celebrations.

Embracing Easter Wedding Themes: From Spring Flowers to Festive Eggs

Springtime at Hilltop Country House, where do we even start? Early spring, you notice the nights getting lighter, and the gorgeous yellow daffodils surround the entire venue, giving off the feeling that the sunshine really is on its way. The lambs suddenly appear in the surrounding fields and take on the role of meeting and greeting your guests. As we progress into April and May, the daffodils turn to beautiful bluebells, the amazing wisteria on the house blooms, and the pretty blossoms are prominent in the gardens throughout the spring months.

Unforgettable Wedding Day: Spring Celebrations at Hilltop

Debbie and Ian grabbed at the opportunity to have their Easter wedding at Hilltop Country House, Wedding Venue in Cheshire, with their two young sons; they felt it was the perfect time to tie the knot with their closest family and friends.

It was the 16th of April 2022 and a very sunny day at Hilltop’s wedding venue. Debbie enjoyed a long morning getting ready with her mother and bridesmaids upstairs whilst Ian looked after the children downstairs. The warm, dry day enabled the boys to let off some steam in the gardens before their wedding day duties began.

The wonderful weather enabled the happy couple to have an outdoor ceremony on the terrace, and their wedding reception was spent in the gardens utilizing the outdoor bar and seating area with umbrellas and garden games. Not forgetting the amazing string quartet band who played throughout.

The weather was gorgeous, so we were able to get married outside, which was what we really wanted, and the spring lambs were frolicking outside whilst we had our drinks reception.”

“We knew from the start that we didn’t want a traditional three-course wedding breakfast, and the chef really relished the idea of doing things differently and bringing our ideas to life. We had sharing boards of tapas to start, a big pan of paella for our main course, and Churros for dessert. It was all delicious and went down really well.”

Wedding Venue Transformed: A Springtime Easter Delight

As the spring flowers and colours surrounded Hilltop Country House, this is exactly what Debbie and Ian incorporated into their Easter theme and wedding décor. Stunning pastel colours flowed throughout their flower bouquets, seating plan, table centrepieces and wedding cake. We just loved the idea of having pastel-coloured candles! Each guest had an edible wedding favour of chocolate mini eggs wrapped in a mason jar. This a fun way to add a little Easter to your spring wedding theme.

From Wedding Reception to Easter Theme: A Seamless Spring Transition

From the minute Debbie, Ian and their family arrived at Hilltop to their very last dance in the boogie room, their April spring wedding was a day they would cherish forever.

“On the day, I didn’t have to worry about a thing as Claire and the team took care of everything, and everything went very smoothly.”

Ultimately, Debbie and Ian’s most memorable moment on their special day was when their two sons gave a speech.

“But most of all, my two boys, aged 7 and 5, gave a speech at the reception, which was unforgettable.”

Joe Daniel Photography took beautiful photos of the day, and you can read more about his impressions of the day here. He also put together a wonderful video of the day, which you can watch below.
